Tip #4 Using poor quality parts Whether you are getting engine repairs, brakes, transmission repairs or anything else, you can not expect the repair to last if poor quality parts are used. Unfortunately, some shops will low ball prices by using inferior parts. Every parts supplier has multiple lines - low cost as well as professional grade parts. Reputable shops offer reasonable warranties which will include both parts and labor. We use quality parts that we can, and do, stand behind. Experience plays a big part here, as well. An experienced technician understands which brands of parts work well in different applications and will stay away from those that are known to cause problems. Don't cut corners on parts - you have the choice of getting the job done right or getting it done over and over. |
